Helping Mom

This morning Jaron was so willing to help me make my bed. When we were done he said "now what do we clean mom?" So, I had him help me vacuumed. "Now what Mom?" So we went downstairs to empty the dishwasher. Within an hour we had the windows washed, bathroom cleaned, dished done, whole house vacuumed and toys picked up. He was so cute with his "glub" on, and as he said, it's to protect us.
He also added that "We have to swing around and dance while we clean Mom." So we did, and had a blast.
I just love these days where I feel like I am actually making a difference in the life's of my children. It makes all the not so good feelings go away!

Out of Control?

Now he has added a slide-Seriously ladies- Help!

Just Plain Nutty

I was taking Mira to the airport and the whole way there I was on the phone just yapping away. Well, as I pulled into the garage I had hung up the phone and looked in the rear view mirror and didn't see Jaron. I thought he had fallen asleep and was lying down but as I turned around I still didn't see him. I started to panic thinking surly I didn't forget him. Did he fall out of the car and I was to into the phone call that I didn't notice? Seriously where is he! I threw the car into park and bolted to the back seat of the van, no Jaron. I leaned over the back seat and to my astonishment saw this:
What the heck? I asked him why he did that and he replied so matter of fact, " because it's fun mom"

Dad's So Cool

So Aaron thinks that until we finish the basement we should just let the kids have a hay day down there. So he built them a "tree" fort. They have a blast in it. What a great Daddy

Catch Up Time

I sooo have to catch up! It's been a Crazy couple of months. I really didn't think any of which was blog worthy. I have some pictures here of the ice/snow storm we had that put us out of power again for four days, The ice was so thick on the trees the next couple days after the ice glistened in the sunlight and EVERYTHING sparkled, it was the beautiful thing I had ever seen. Pictures don't do it justice at all.
We again had the opportunity in the midst of disaster to take note in how prepared we were. It felt so good to not have to fear. Jackson is fine as long as he has his blankie, his mommie, and his thumb. We did lots of coloring Yoga in the mornings to keep us warm and the blood flowing! I love having a generator! Hudling together by the fire
I have been super busy holding the fort down while Aaron has had to put in more hours than usual. And those of you that know him know that that the "usual" is already a typical 13 hour day. Like I said I had figured it not blog worthy, but at the same time I have really learned a lot these last 6 months. I have had my testimony strengthened and Aaron and I couldnt be any closer through this. I was talking to my sister about it and we said how funny it is we are so happy and have peace and hope during these times of trial. It's the blessings of the gospel for sure!

Perks of Moms Job

At my Job, I get to have these as my perks!
He took out he towel and the clippers, and well, here ya have it. (alison feels my pain) He was so upset at himself I didn't have to say a word, well of reprimand that is. I did however have to make him feel better so that he wouldn't "stay home from school until my hair grows back." As soon as I saw him it took me a minute to realize what he did. I said "Jaron, what did you do?" he looked up at me with his big eyes and said "I did it myself." I said "Oh, Jaron!! (trying my hardest not to laugh my head off) He then burst into tears and started crying, "I want my hair back"
It totally broke my heart! So I had to buzz him completely and he was so upset. Saying over and over, "I want my hair back"  I took him to school, against his wishes to wait until his hair was back, and he thoughtfully put a hooded sweatshirt on and pulled the hood over his head. I asked him if he was going to take it off when he got to school, he said NO. Jackson had already taken his bath but apparently wasnt done yet. He flipped himself into the bath with Jaron. I love my Job

Busted

So the girls wanted to stay up late and watch a movie, pop popcorn, eat cookies-yadda, yadda. I'm upstairs in my office and BraeLynn comes running up the stairs "there's smoke in the house!!!!" So I walk downstairs and It's like a fire in the house without the flame- serious smoke. Sure enough the popcorn burnt, actually it incinerated, and the microwave it blackened, probably permanently, even our clothes in the closet will smell like smoked popcorn for who knows how long. Pillows, blankets all the way in the upstairs closet for cryin' out loud. It seriously could have started a read fire! So what's going to be the Punishment??? Mom is never allowed to make popcorn again.

Last Sunday I got out the monopoly game and started teaching the kids how to play. I wasnt sure how well they would catch on, or even think it was fun. I loved it when I was a kid. As of last night BraeLynn is kicking all our butts! My 8 Year old- beating me- Oh, It's on now!

If your Happy and you know it.......

I have posted about this a couple times but I feel so strongly about the message I feel the Lord has been giving me this year. And as I have thought about the years events, and what I have learned the most it would be just this- To Just be Happy.
I envy those who wake up happy. Where it is natural to look at life positive and can see so much to be happy about. It takes more work for me. I tend to wake up feeling overwhelmed at the tasks of the day and would rather be prepared for the worst so expect the worst. Guarded I guess.
This year, as I have prayed, the answer I always get- to whatever it is I am praying about is to Be Happy. I make it a conscience effort to do so from the moment I wake up. I have been so pleased to see the Lords miracle in the simple concept of this joyful attitude.
I have been thinking about how the tone of the world is getting so doom and gloom. What better way to fall into the traps of the adversary than to bring that doom and gloom into our homes.
I am grateful to be surrounded by women who are happy by nature, and hope that my weakness will be made strong. Until then, I will "Step up to the plate and be Happy about it" Sister Beck.

Extended wardrobe

McKenna loves to go into my closet and find things to wear. I caught her with a pair of my shoes on and told her she can't wear my shoes they are too big. She says, mom they fit me. Low and behold they did. So Now she has invaded my closet. But I did just buy her a cute pair of fur boots and guess what- they fit me! So I guess it will work both ways.

Normal?

So Jackson has been going into McKenna's room the last couple days and grabbing this purse. He walks around with it and his blanket. When he goes to climb up the coffee table he throws the purse up there first then hoists himself up right after. I am going to pretend that it's "normal". And NOT tell Aaron! I have to say he sure reminds me a lot of BraeLynn! heehee
I love moments when I can pause and watch something my children are doing, and smile that smile that goes deep into the soul.
